TRAUMA
Orthopedic trauma is a severe injury to the musculo- skeletal system that is bones, joints, muscles, ligaments, and soft tissues—caused by external forces like falls, car accidents, or high-energy events. It can range from simple fractures to complex, life-threatening injuries, and requires immediate medical attention to restore function and mobility, sometimes through surgical intervention followed by rehabilitation.
SPORTS INJURY
Sports injuries are common muscle, bone or soft tissue injuries that occur during physical activities. They include sprains, strains and fractures — injuries that usually heal within weeks or months — as well as longer-lasting conditions like tendinitis. Overtraining, falls and running into things are common causes. Many sports injuries can heal at home, but it’s important to have a plan for rehabilitation.
JOINT REPLACEMENT
Total joint replacement is a surgical procedure in which parts of an arthritic or damaged joint are removed and replaced with a metal, plastic, or ceramic device called a prosthesis. The prosthesis is designed to replicate the movement of a normal, healthy joint. Hip and knee replacements are the most commonly performed joint replacements, but replacement surgery can be performed on other joints, as well, including the ankle, wrist, shoulder, and elbow.
